Grievance Process
SAAS is committed to ensuring a fair, respectful, and supportive process for all students. If you disagree with an accommodation decision or experience barriers to access, you have the right to request a review through the appeal process.
Students may file an appeal if they disagree with an accommodation decision, if an approved accommodation is not being implemented, or if they experience barriers to accessing their courses or campus services. Appeals must be submitted in writing within 10 business days of the decision or incident.
To begin the process, send your appeal via email to:
To support a thorough review, appeals must include:
- Your name and contact information
- A detailed description of your concern, including relevant facts, dates, and individuals involved
- A summary of steps already taken to try to resolve the issue informally
- A clear explanation of the outcome you are requesting and why
- Any additional documentation that supports your request
Once your appeal is received, the Director will review all submitted materials and may request additional information if needed. A written response will be provided. Decisions are typically communicated within 20 business days. If additional time is needed due to extenuating circumstances, you will be notified.
